Alice went missing due to supernatural dark forces at Cauldron Lake. Alan searches for his wife and comes to know that, this dark force was come to life from one of his horror stories. Wake was able to free his wife from the darkness. But traps himself under the darkness of the lake.

In the second part, we can see that, Alan Wake is not dead. For 13 years, he has been trying to free himself from the supernatural darkness. He is trying to write a story that would free him from the darkness. Will he succeed in his mission?
